Ps3 cfw/jailbreak questions

ive seen quite a few posts online but i dont know if any of them are legit or whatever, and i really dont wina destroy my ps3 as i just replaced my old one.
if anyone know if they are legit can they please let me know.

They ARE legit. There is only one little thing, you can barely run any (if any) homebrew, and neither back-up managers will work. So my advice is just to wait until a full jailbreak is released.
at least i know there on the way there, its the backup managers im looking for.
have u any idea if there is a downgrader avaiable yet?
Yup, it’s available. The only thing is, that it’s a hardware downgrader. And seeying you just got a new PS3, I don’t think thats what you’re looking for.
crap, was hoping for a software one. guess ill just have to wait for the cfw then .
