Can i add new video codec inside the ps3? how can i install the linux? or any good ps3 forums? thx

Try GeexBox. Its a Linux distribution that can play almost any video/audio file and can open any container format.
Its comes as a bootable Linux live CD (if you boot from it, you can remove the CD from the drive and play anything else, its that small).
If you can get the PS3 to boot from it (try searching Google for this), then you can play anything. 🙂
