Program for formating hard drive
February 5th, 2020
The correct word is partitions, And Windows can do this natively just fine!
Computer>Right click the partition’s drive letter>Format (Just do a quick one)
I agree with Roberto, but if your looking for a full wipe, I pull out an old copy of windows..like 98/me. it has format on it. and is fast. I use this on partition create on dual boots also. The old Window stuff is good to have around.
hope this helps.
ya don’t even need a disc. If they’re seperate partitions and not one where windows in installed on all you need is the command console
Start > run > enter “cmd” > then enter “format x:” without the quote and where x stands for the drive you wish to format. If you want to do a quick format (just emptying the file table making the partition look blank to windows) and not a complete erase it becomse “format x: /q”
I use Acronis Disk Director for most things like this. It’s just more convenient to use.
You can format any drive that does have windows installed (normally C on it via windows
You can format the main drive that does have windows on it by putting in any windows cd, where it will ask you if you want to format the main disk
