Problem with image transfer from htpc from to the tv screen

January 24th, 2020

Hey
We just bought an HTPC with the motherboard MA78GPM (gigabyte), which has an on board HD3200 video card.
when I connect the computer screen through a dvi connection it works fine, but when I connect the tv screen through an HDMI connection, all I get is blank screen on the tv.
I’ve changed the vga configuration to HDMI (in the bios>advanced cmos), and it didn’t help. (In this case, I can’t see anything)
When I connect them both, and vga configuration is on DVI, I can see in the catalyst control panel, that the computer has identified the tv screen, because it says Toshiba in the configuration.
*I’ve installed the chipset driver, and the operating system is vista.
Any suggestions?

both cyberlink powerdvd and corel windvd have advisor apps try runing one of those to see if it’s a HDMI compliance issue
also try to find out if you need to set the PC’s resolution of refresh rate to match the TV

How to I know which refresh rate do I need to set?
The tv is Toshiba 37C3500E REGZA
I see that the resolution is 1366X768.

Where in the control panel am I suppose to enable HDMI connection?
look under displays to start
been a while since I used ATI CTRL PNL but that sounds like a good place to start
think there’s a small icon in the upper right above each pictured display that you click to select and configure
