Prefetch and Temp folders in Ramdisk

March 2nd, 2020

Hi all, I’m thinking of moving my prefetch and temp folders to my RamDisk, which I suppose will speed things up a little. My questions are:
1) Will it do any harm to my pc if I change my prefetch and temp folders to another folder on different drive?
2) Say I save all the prefetches in Ramdisk before turning off my pc, and I turn it back on. Will Windows use the old prefetches inside the Ramdisk, or will it have “re-learn” (can’t find the right word ) everything again?
Thanks

nope
you will gain no speed doing either of those to a ram drive
or will it have "re-learn"
yes
temp files – only benefit would be your temp files get cleared every re-boot
turn off prefetch completely, that’s what I do
and if your using a ram disk put app temp files on it
windows temp files don’t shrink & grow
but app temp files (Pshop, video editors and the like) do and most allow you to choose
