Answer #1
Text plug-in? What is the file type exactly?
An .8BF plugin file will go to (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [whatever version you have]\Plug-Ins. Or it could be a .asl style file (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [whatever version you have]\Presets\Styles)… or maybe an action (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop […]\Presets\Photoshop Actions).
Or there are some plugins such as the Alien Skin ones which come with their own installer .exe. Those should be simple enough to install, just make sure you pick the correct folder if it didn’t have a default path.
How you can use it also depends on what kind of file it is. Most plug-ins can be used from the Filters menu.

Okay I downloaded that plug-in.
It’s an .8BF file so it should be copied to your Plug-Ins folder. Once you’ve done that, start up Photoshop again. Go to Filter (along the top menu bar) -> creativity -> textArt…
Then the textArt window will open – the rest should be straightforward!
Hope that helped.
