The device i’m trying to connect to is a sony ericsson bluetooth headset.. It has a built in mic and a 3.5mm audio jack for a pair or ordinary headphones.
Windows 7 will connect to it, but has no services.
It worked fine in XP, and i have an updated version of the drivers i used in XP in windows 7.
Would really appreciate some help..
Thanks!

Its not much, but did you already try manually looking for the bluetooth service in services.msc? I have windows 7 and dont use bluetooth but there is still a service for it

I have also facing bluetooth problem in windows 7 for some time.
but i have found a temporary solution for installing bluetooth on my windows.
If u have any usb mouse installed on ur pc. or any other usb device on ur system just unplugged it, as it will clash with ur bluetooth dongle and hence wouldn’t install all the required drivers to use by bluetooth on ur pc.
so best is do the same and after installation just connect ur other devices it worked for me so far.

had the same problem, with 3 different bluetooth dongles …
bought today a hama dongle …this is one of a few that is windows 7 compatible you also have to instal the software that came with it
