People remote uploading my links and reposting exact links

August 1st, 2016

This is with regards to this post:
http://www.google.com?t=1764975&start=0&highlight=
These are my links just remote uploaded. Didn’t even bother to change the filenames.
This is how I know that they are mine:
I uploaded to my server with the intention of remote uploading to 3 web hosts (I have a bad connection so it is 3x as fast).
With the rapidshare links, I accidentally told it to fetch files like so:
http://mysite.com/file%20for%20download.rar
Rapidshare converted the % into _, rather than just the spaces like is normally would. As a result, a lot of my links are like follows:
http://~ Dead file host ~/number/file_20for_20download.rar
If i direct uploaded to rapidshare this would not have happened.
People have been remote uploading them and reposting the exact same links. I put the work into uploading them and they just remote upload and repost links that are already here to get points. (exactly the same). To me this seems like spam because it is not as if they are posting mirrors of dead links or links on another web host, but rather links that are all ready here.
Can anything be done about this?

i think you can’t do anything, it’s , happen all the times

I agree (with the don’t think you can do anything) – it’s human nature.
Humans are basically the lowest of the low in terms of ethics and morals (and I don’t mean the sort of morals that religious morons trot on about). A very very small few are ethically decent and reliable, but most will post a virus filled GTA4 crack to get points and hurt others, and you only have to look at the stupid ‘Gta San Andreas in 10Mb’ posts to see more examples.
And, no, being on a forum and downloading games doesn’t contravene my own ethics. Doing what you complain about would though.

well heres a nifty trick that i helped Jaked with, add your username to the file so if they RU it, it will have your username in it and make the person look like they took your links.

well heres a nifty trick that i helped Jaked with, add your username to the file so if they RU it, it will have your username in it and make the person look like they took your links.I do, however if you have a webserver and remote upload them through that, it is not hard to change them. However, I have started to password some of my unique uploads so that they can’t be directly remote uploaded.
I don’t care about them taking my stuff, it’s that they want the points for my work. I’d rather they just download it and then repackage as their own. But anyway, I don’t care, my posts get more exposure because they have more mirrors
Answer #5
Well, rename your files with your username in it like this adobe.cs4.by_.rar and give out the password like @WBB.
Answer #6
well you can’t do nothing about it , next time password protect it , but people will still remote in order to get points..
it’s frustrating I know
In the past I had a mega mythbusters post .. everything was delete (I had about 12-15 gig uploaded) and someone just reupload everything .. so it was useless for me to repack and reupload everything..
Answer #7
Well isn’t the point of this community to share?
Answer #8
you cant do nothing that would stop them, unfortunately.
but i agree with you. it is realy your hard work, and noone but you should get points or any form of reward for that!
so put your nick into filenames, protect them with your name in the password. this would get attention to proper, i mean your, post…
if i see a post by autor named “XXXXX” and in the filemanes or in a password i see something like “by YYYYY” this make me sure the stuff is leached! then i close the topic, immediately

Due to people remote uploading my links and reposting them, I have begun to password protect my links. Sorry for any inconvenience.
lol that’s hilarious, man that is just the name of the game here, I don’t personally do that sort of thing but really it’s no different if say I download your links ‘repackage’ them and reupload them to the same host as yours or even if I just downloaded them and turned around and uploaded the same files, you wouldn’t even know that I had done that, short of inserting a password or name into said filename
I mean it’s your prerogative to add a password to your uploads, but for me, I won’t download a file that has a password unless it’s the only one available. So in your case I wouldn’t be surprised if your downloads drop off now that you have said you are going to add a password to every file. I mean it’d be like hio links going passworded, if people knew ahead there would be a password would they even bother to open the topic? I know I wouldn’t if I knew there was a pass, I’d just move along to the next topic…
