Outlook 2010 Junk filter not junking emails.

August 4th, 2016

So, I am running into this problem with my junk folder isn’t populating and Junk items that I’ve marked junk isn’t getting junked and is still hitting my Inbox. Has anyone experience this issue before? I’ve checked all the settings on my “JUNK Options” and it looks to be normal according the Microsoft support that I’ve researched. The email address and domain that I want Junked, is on my “BLOCK list” in the option. So, I’ve tried almost everything and now, I’m just clueless on why this is happening. Anyone out there that has tips or solutions please help.
Answer #1
It’s likely that you have conflicting rules somewhere.
I would delete all rules related to the domain/ email address / subject etc – look for all rules, not just block. Re-add what you want.
Remember junk does not run against old emails, unless you manually run the filter.

Hey ,
I’ll give that a shot. If I export/import the list would that be possible without having to re-do all those block individually? THanks again for your help.
Answer #3
I wouldn’t even go that far. Just review the rules, taking your time to make sure something didn’t get updated in one that wasn’t planned and toast those related to the junk that is getting through.
Exporting and importing is easy:
