Office 2010 Install – Urgently need solution!

August 4th, 2013

Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous Office 2010 trials being installed.
I keep getting the following error when trying to install Office 2010 – I just did a clean install of windows 7 ( had office working fine previously before clean install) Now it wont let me reinstall it
Its obviously because I previously had it and there are still some registry entries still from previous install. I have used your uninstaller to attempt to remove all Office 2010 stuff – even deleted the entire ‘Old Windows’ Folders.
Really, really need a solution to this and I can’t do another clean install as I have spent way to many hours installing all other apps back on.
If you have a solution – I would be seriously appreciated

Answer #1
check the version of office you are installing
it sounds like you may have a 64 bit version of office and a 32 bit version of windows
a version mismatch will give you the error
if the versions are right you could try a registry cleaner before you install office to clean up any registry / temp entries
ccleaner or registry mechanic are a couple of good cleaners
Update:
I found this on microsofts website step 4 is manual uninstall of office 2010

Umm – if it’s a fresh install of Win 7 – there would be no entries in your registry for Office…
Grab a full ISO download of Office from this board and install it – activate it using Office 2010 Toolkit and EZ-Activator v2.2.3 (i think is the latest one) but check here

Use KMS Activator to activate Office 2010. You need to install the trial first though.

this was informative but did not do the job
I have trolled through all the forums for a solution to this problem and no luck.
I cant install a trial version neither an ISO from Warez – I still receive the same error.
I’m think the only option may be to try installing an older version of office 2007 and then reinstall when they release a new trial version of whatever is after 2010 ( be a while though)
