Installed vista Ultimate on vmware recently and have no aero. Is this normal?

Answer #1
Your using a virtual environment, VMWare will disable Aero. That’s my guess on it. It doesn’t matter, you don’t need transparency and other effects in VMWare.
Answer #2
hold windows key and tab to see if it works. TO be honest though it isnt worth it its a resource hog
Answer #3
By now, you’ve settled or completely forgotten about this but, here is my answer anyways… Windows Vista checks your hardware to enable the “best” settings for your hardware config. Vmware, I dont believe supports virtualization in windows, which is actually using “your computers hardware” to use directly into the virtual OS rather than software, I know it virtualized intels, and haven’t tested on AMD’s yet. To put it in short, in vmware, because it uses software to simulate hardware, windows vista thinks you have one of the crummiest video cards, or none whatsoever, therefore when you move windows, you have that roll effect, shich isn’t really an effect it’s your processor simulating graphics… -_-
