Nfs Carbon- Graphics problem
August 8th, 2016
Under Display options, i cant change the Visual Treatment Option.. It says “Low” and is disabled so i cant change it to “High”
Is this because of my Gfx Card? What card shud i have to play this game. Also please suggest a card that can run NFS:Undercover as well! My system configuration is Pentium 4 (2.6 ghz) currently running 512 but also have 1gb ram1
Graphic Card:
NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 5500.
yes its the graphic card. Its old enough to limit the performance and therefore bad quality gaming. How much are you willing to spend on a new (not really but) AGP card. But you might as well get a new build for future lasting games, rather than upgrading an old pc. You wont get very far with that
The card you have is pretty old. You also need 1GB of ram or more. For Undercover you will need a better card with GDDR3 512MB, but it could be throttle down by your slow CPU. Maybe its time to buy new computer.
BTW heres requirements for NFS Carbon, so get graphics card that is either Radeon 8500 or Geforce 4 ti or greater.
requirements Microsoft Windows
* Windows 2000/XP
* 1.7GHz CPU
* 512MB RAM
* 5.3GB hard disk drive space
* DirectX 9.0c compatible 64MB video card with one of these chipsets: Radeon 8500; GeForce 4 Ti
* DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
* 8x DVD drive (DVD edition) / CD drive (CD edition)
and for NFS Undercover
OS: Windows XP/VISTA with latest service pack
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (or equivalent) CPU running at 2.8GHz or higher*
Memory: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Geforce 6500, Radeon 9500 or better DirectX compliant video card**
Hard Drive: 5.5 GB required to install game
Optical drive: 8X or faster DVD Drive
Sound card: DirectX compatible sound card
Internet: To play online a network card is required for broadband connectivity
* 3.0GHz if running Windows Vista
** with Pixel shader 2.0 or above (AGP and PCIe only)
try upgrading your comp a bit mate like ram and cpu maybe and speciially the gfx card.
Yes i will be buying a new PC few months later but for now i just wanna upgrade the card. So can you please suggest me the models of NVIDIA and ATI which for now can sort my prob?
how much you willing to spend? I can pick one out from Newegg since its the most popular around here, or from a store of your liking
How much i am willing to spend is hard to tell cuz of currency difference. I am from Pakistan. Btw i can pay anything between 4000-5000 PKR (80USD=1PKR)

POSTING THIS ON HIS BEHALF SINCE WE’RE REAL LIFE BUDDIES
Just to give an idea to you guys.. the card he is currently having cost us PKR 2400 (1USD = 80PKR). We bought it few months ago like 3months maybe
I assume since your computer is old it has AGP card? Or does it only have PCI port? You need to know so we can tell you. Also whats your PSU watts? Go for a 7600 GS 512MB card plus 1GB of ram and you’ll run Carbon at high settings and could run Undercover maybe but then you need more than 1GB of ram like 2GBs of ram. Your cpu would slow down Undercover though cuz that game i assume needs more power from the look on its recommended specs.
well since Newegg doenst ship internationally, maybe you can find a pc store in Pakistan. I can browse and see what i can get for that price

It supports AGP.. Not sure about PSU watts, will have to look Regarding undercover, he wants to play it smoothly with decent gfx (non-cartoonish).. it doesn’t matter if the game isnt running wid highest settings!

Yes i am aware Newegg wont help us… you may not be lucky enough to find the prices of card on a online Pakistani store … as the DOT COM culture here is still in its early stage! Those who sell online arent competent so request you to just suggest some models and we will check the prices ourselves

oh ok. Gotta get out more then
Anyway you might want to check out the ATI X1650, X1650 Pro or the Nvidia GeForce 6200 series.
Thankyou
mate!
