Anyway before I make the same mistake twice, can anyone send me into the right direction please pref: ebay is my source of buying.

Answer #1
DDR2 533 (PC2-4200), a fairly old type of DDR2 memory and the clockspeed wasn’t enough to overcome the latency in its design.
The DDR2 series got better after the DDR2 800
You can mix memory modules, its just the latency might not be the same so there is a little bottleneck, but its not noticeable.
The memory timings (sometimes called latency) is how quick the memory can do one of its functions, the lower the better.
Answer #2
I understand. Can you show me a couple of RAM I can do with? Im after buying.
Answer #3
They are listed as DDR2 533 or PC2-4300.
Its often hard to get the exact brand and model, so you can buy any brand, any speed and any latency.
533, 667, 800, 1066.
All the notches are the same so it will fit.
Answer #4
What chipset have you got on your mobo, it’s quite possible you can use DDR2 PC2-6400
*edit – go and run a system scan at Crucial memory

Get these:

RAM is so cheap these days that buying it second hand is pointless,You won’t save much money by doing so,Plus this
way you’ll get it brand new & with warranty. Now just to set the record straight,DDR in general is backwards compatible,I.E DDR2 800
will work as 533 if that’s the max supported by your motherboard/cpu combo.
Answer #6
RAM is so cheap
That’s still double the price of DDR3.
Answer #7
you could check out ebay.com as some sellers post world wide, if i was you i would first ask the seller so far with my ram buying have had no problems there cheer’s

-paroxysM^ replied: That's still double the price of DDR3.
True,But that’s not really a fair comparison,Clearly as demand goes down prices go up,It’s like that with anything,Not just RAM,Anyways,I meant relatively cheap and not in comparison to DDR3,But I just found a better deal:

2 of these at only £24.26
Answer #9
This is the best place, will scan your computer for you and tell you what you need exactly even if you do not buy from here you will know the correct memory to purchase elsewhere,i have only ever used these guys never let me down always correct stuff.

ps.if using 2 slots ie 1x1gb and 1x3gb smallest size aways to front ie first slot
