which router are you using ?
Answer #2
It is a netgear ADSL2 MODEM ROUTER ya got any ideas?
Answer #3
just Buy a Lan Wire with RJ45 Connector and put on your Both Pc. and sharing all files and folder.
Answer #4
First determine what folders you want to share with PC/Laptop over the network. If you want to make it really easy, just share the root drive each for the PC and the Laptop. Otherwise, you will have to do the procedure with each folder you want to share on both the PC and the Laptop.
Right click on folder you want to share
Properties
Select Sharing tab
Click Share button
There should be YOUR USER NAME listed:
Name:
YOUR USER NAME
Permission Level:
Read/Write
Make sure YOUR USER NAME is on the list of shares
If not, click on Security Tab, click on Advanced button, click on Owner tab, click Edit tab, click Other users or groups button, type YOUR USER NAME, click Check Names button, Click OK button, Click Apply button, click OK button
Click the Advanced Sharing button
Check the box next to Share this folder
Change the number of simultaneous users to 2 (for security purposes)
Click the Permissions button
In the Group or user names remove (for security purposes):
Everyone
Administrators (X\Administrators) – where X is the name of your PC
Click the Add button
Type in your User Name and click the Check Names button. X\User Name will now appear. Click the OK button
In Permissions field, check box next to Full Control. Click Apply button. Click OK Button
You will be returned to the Advanced Sharing Window. Click the Apply Button. Click OK.
You will be returned to the Folder Properties Sharing Tab Window. Click Close.
Now from your PC if you go into Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, you should see your Laptop on the list. Double click on it and you will see the shared folders in Windows Explorer.

The LAN cable is to messy, PCs r in different rooms.
The problem I’m having is seeing each PC, if I can see it I know how to share files.
The problem I’m having is connecting both, one is connected to the router via LAN the other wireless.
Answer #6
It wouldn’t matter is one is wired or wireless. If there both windows 7’s you can use Homegroups. Right Click on the folder/s/ you wanna share and click on homegroup. It should help you through the set up. Once the folder is shared, on the other PC you open network sharing center, and there is a option Called “Choose homegroup and Sharing option” which should give you a run through to make it work.
Also make sure you go to Change Advanced sharing settings from the network and sharing Center. and Turn on Netowrk Discovery on, Turn on file and printer sharing for both Computers.
Answer #7
All above that, I usually disable password sharing as it asks for a password even if there isn’t one.
Answer #8
cheers guys going to give it ago tomorrow.
Answer #9
use remote desktop option with local sharing checked that would be the best way to access files and also monitor.

regarding the above … to begin with , move the wireless into the same room as the laptop … this will make sure that there are no walls or other devices or neighbourhood events which are interfering with the wireless connection …
then , if u have it , read the user manual … always lots gud stuff in Netgear manuals … after that , try doing the setup as per manual …
u can also maybe try the Netgear Genie ,a free software aid from NGear site …
then ,there are some gud help tips posted by others …
hope this helps…
