Need to extract multiple rars at once ?

January 21st, 2020

Have many folders with a .rar file inside of each, want to be able to extract each rar file but keep the extracted content in the same folder that rar was originally. For example..
Folder 1 — test.rar -> unpack to folder 1
Folder 2 — 123.rar -> unpack to folder 2
Folder 3 –sample.rar -> unpack to folder 3
i can scan for all rar’s and unpack them to one single folder, but how to do tell winrar to unpack them to the folder they were originally in if possible ?
thanks

WinRAR has a right click setting when you highlight all the .rar files to unpack each to different folders (extract each archive to separate folders)

Yeah, you are right but not what OP needs.
OP wants that if some .rar file is in e.g. Folder 10 and another in Folder 15, then .rar file from Folder 10 should be extracted in Folder 10 and file from Folder 15 in Folder 15.
If you try “your” way then .rar file/s will be extracted in Folder related to file you clicked on with the right click.
e.g.
Folder 1 – test1.rar
Folder 2 – test2.rar
If you search for .rar files and select above .rar files and right click on e.g. test2.rar and choose “extract each archive to separate folders” – both .rar files will be extracted into Folder 2……and vice versa.
@ There is sth like this:

It looks like it is sth you need.

That really seems like a bug. I can’t see any reason why this would be desired behaviour. Does 7zip do the same?

Have a bunch of folders like this, each folder has a single rar file inside of it
Folder 1 has test.rar –> unpack to folder 1
Folder 2 has hello.rar –> unpack to folder 2
Folder 3 has abcdef.rar –> unpack to folder 3
Folder 4 has more.rar –> unpack to folder 4
Folder 5 has new.rar –> unpack to folder 5
So i want to be able to tag all the folders at once and unpack each rar to the same folder the rar is in now
Will try sth. Thanks.

You have this program also:
http://www.extractnow.com/
It is easy to figure it out and it works perfectly fine for what you need.
