Need help with a AM3 CPU Cooler.

At the moment, they’re having a sale on this particular CPU Cooler, which I want to take advantage of. At the moment, I’m using a AMD Phenom II X4 CPU, and this cooler is compatible with AM3 CPUs.
I’m using the stock heatsink it came with, and my god it’s noisy… gives me a lot of background noises in my mic. I was wondering if this is a good product to purchase? I love Corsair, and they haven’t failed me so far, but I’d like an opinion.
Also, it mentions for AM3 CPUs, it works right out of the box. Does that mean I don’t have to install anything extra? As in I can just plug it in and go without having to remove the motherboard to, say, install a custom plate for it?

Corsair Hydro series is not what you should be looking at if you want silence. Their stock fans are noisy and the Asetek pump is not silent.

Will that thing even fit in a Mid-Tower PC? That thing looks pretty big… o_o

That will depend on what case your going to use.
Personally I would recommend this:

It has smaller dimensions and could fit well with memory slots and maybe your case, if you know what I mean.
If you know the exact model of your case, you can check on the manufacturer’s website or use a ruler.
Air is good for the VRMs.
If you want water and a colder temp, I suggest a Peltier route or nothing.
Other methods use too much power or isn’t a permanent solution.
