Need Help solve my problem with Mac, please

Guys i need help with something.
Yesterday, my customer asked me to setup his Macbook.
His Macbook dont have any Os.
The Problem is after i type mac-boot a gray screen along with a new folder with question mark appear.
Anyone know why?

I’m pretty sure it have hard drive..Is there any way to make sure the hard disk is not damaged?
