I’m not sure if I care much about 3D…but I know I want 120Hz.
Not sure if LED is really that much better?
These are both around my price range.
Though the LG would have to be shipped which kind of worries me (although it is Free shipping with Prime)… but I could pick up Vizio at Walmart.
Which one is the better deal in your opinion?

I looked at this when you posted it. I’ve got Vizio Tv only got in a few weeks ago, as a spare TV in another Spare Room, i don’t know much about there quality at all. But i’d go with the LG, the reviews look good.

VIZIO 42″ Class Theater 3D LCD HDTV is the one i would go with as it has wifi, remote w/qwerty keypad, etc and the quality is really good
Answer #4
60Hz 100Hz 120Hz, I really don’t see any difference, maybe I just have bad eyes.
But do keep in mind that in order to take full advantage of HD and 3D, all your hardware and software including media have to be HD compliant.
I’d go for a toshiba or sony.

Don’t get LG nor Vizio. They are cheapily built TV’s.
Get a Samsung TV. Make sure it is 1080p, the refresh rate is not important unless you’re getting a giant TV of 60″ and up. LCD is good.
Samsung TV’s are reasonably priced and you can find a Samsung that has the same features you want that are on the cheap LG and Vizio. Samsung has been around for decades and has an excellent reputation for building quality electronics.

I don’t know where you get that gem from, LG are extremely well known here in Europe for reliability. I’d buy one over a Samsung any day.
Most TV’s are made for buttons anyway, look where they are made.

One thing I don’t like about Samsung, as well as several similar brands in this price range, is the so called “panel lottery.”
They receive their panels from several manufacturers from all over the world and many brands simply don’t know what type panel is in their product. (usually a TN)
The features can be misleading too; like the apps are limited in most. For example, several LG models can’t display certain streaming because of it’s early version of adobe flash.
I would consider bumping-up your price range, or buying a quality no frills TV then add a media player and external audio later as you are able to afford the expense. (my 2ยข)

I would love to get a Samsung but I haven’t been able to find one with similar features at that price range.

Samsung > all

I understand that but like I said before, I haven’t been able to find one with similar features with that same price range.

I have 2 Vizio’s, a 37 in the bedroom that has been good and a 47 that we just use for video games that is a piece of crap……goes black screen by itself and wont come on sometimes…….Vizio was no help, when i called and explained that it was slightly out of warranty time wise it probably only had 50 hours on it since we rarely use it and i thought they should do something (split repair cost or free part or something), They offered to send a guy out but i would have to pay 250 or something for a service call weather he could fix it or not and if its “unrepairable” (backlight out which it probably is) i would still have to pay for the call……hell with that, i’ll just put my money towards a new tv and it damn sure wont be a Vizio…..
Answer #13
I have NEVER EVER heard of “Vizio” ….. So therefore out of the two, I would go for LG.
