January 24th, 2020

on the fist picture i have got 3+4 connected to PWR SW cable.
and on the same picture i have 5+6 connected to RESET SW cable.
now i have 2 other cables. H.D.D LED. does this connect into 1+2 on the first image? (wasn’t sure as it says IDE) the last cable is POWER LED. does this connect to 5+6 on the second picture (wasn’t sure about this as there are 3 holes and only 2 pins)
hope i’ve explained clearly enough.
cheers

As a side note, anything you hook up here that is basically a switch (power or reset buttons) are mearly breaks in the line so + and – are irrelevant. But on actual devices, even led lights, + and – are important but would probably not blow up the mobo if you do it wrong. Often, if you reverse the polarity of the Power Led, it will not light, and for the hard drive led it might stay on all the time. Switching them around will usually iron things out. You have to watch the power led, some cases have a two pin connection and the motherboard may have three pins (2 negative and 1 positive), its important to use one + and one – when putting a two pin case connector on a three pin PLED mobo and get the polarity right. Thats a laugh though as manufacturers of cases color code their wires oddly. Its easy to tell positive when the two wires are red and black but white and green?
