Some common solutions:
Make sure time and date are correct. If not fix it and restart.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking MSN from the internet.
Make sure you have flash player for Internet Explorer and the program itself.
Make sure you have the latest version of MSN.
If it doesn’t work, uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller by selecting “Advanced” and then reinstall your program.

Answer #17
This problem was coming to me and it was annoying me. I tried many solutions but the one which worked is as follows:
1. Click Start -> Run and then type inetcpl.cpl and press enter.
2. Select Security Tab and then select trusted sites then click sites button and write “https://*.contacts.msn.com” in Add this website to the zone: and click add. Click Close.
3. Next click connection tab then lan settings if you are on a lan if not then leave it. In lan settings click Advance and then add “*.contacts.msn.com” under exceptions without double quotes. Click Ok and then Ok and then Ok. Now try signing in and your problem is solved.
Please note that in step 2 write https://*.contacts.msn.com without double quotes.
