System Restore isn’t necessary.. Try reinstalling Windows Live Messenger first.
why do people persist with Messenger, use aMSN….it’s a hell of a lot easier to use and you don’t get all the errors that you are getting with Messenger, actually you don’t get them at all. If you like the cool options that you have with messenger, then you are destined to open threads like this..

i’ve tried, but whenever i click the download button with IE or firefox, the messenger site gives me an error
The error would help us give you an answer.

oops sorry xD heres the error : 80072f19
Googled that error, and got this.
If you’re getting an 80072f19 error when you try to connect to MSN Messenger, check out this site. Here’s the best bit.
This worked for me:
Start IE & select Menu – Tools – Internet Options – Advanced
Under Security Section – Clear the “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart) check box
Start MSN Messenger beta 7 again & you’ll have to issue your passport account information again. You’ll receive one more error. Login again and it will work.
yeah , i got that too but that one is about msn messenger beta 7, not for windows live messenger:(
People say it works fine for messenger, too.
YESSSS thank you very much, it worked =D
