Line6 PodXT Clip
August 2nd, 2013
For those of you with a Line6 PodXT, do you ever get a little thing on the upper right hand side of the screen that says “CLIP”? It’s bothering the hell out of me because it severely lowers the volume of everything and makes it sound really bad. Sometimes I’ll restart my POD, but recently it hasn’t been helping.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Matt N
Clip means that the signal is to strong to be outputted without damaging the hardware. So the circuit is lowering the level of the signal to prevent this. In other words, change your configuration so it doesn’t light up:-)
Hmm. Explains a lot.
Thanks
It is in fact the signal from your Guitar or preamp going into the Pod that’s getting clipped to prevent damage to the onboard circuitry – it could also be a bad earth or solder within your input cable. Try a new cable or try making sure the signal going into your pod is less – turn down volume or plug it into your amp to hear it clipping then reduce vol until the signal is clean (clearer) then plug it back into Pod
