Laptop Tracking Software Worth it?

I just purchased a laptop for college, and I’m wondering if the laptop tracking software works well or if it’s even worth buying.
Currently, I am looking at LoJack, but I’m open to buying a different program. Anyone have knowledge about laptop tracking?

If you going to leave your laptop in a library, then you might need it. LoJack is the leading company in recovering stolen items (laptops, cars, shipments, etc). If you can afford it, I say go for it. Reason why LoJack is so good, is that its a preferred company by law enforcements. I hear about laptops stolen in my university all the time.

LoJack is the best of it’s kind.
However, you can easily create a program that when the laptop accesses the internet it sends information of it’s IP, ISP and Location.
Don’t ask me how, just viruses work on the same way.

ohh dude i don`t know if it work but you can put a trojan server on your laptop from your pc at home and if get stolen you can acces the pc if that would help

Unless its a hardware solution, forget it. One of the first things that happens to a stolen laptop is a hard drive wipe to remove pesonal identifiers.
