February 14th, 2022

First time I’ve used a Key Gen and I’m a little weary. It getting blocked as a Trojan Virus. Are Keygen’s usually safe to use??
Thanks

Answer #1
Yes..Most of CORE keygens will be picked up as Virus/trojan because of the way they are coded..
It’s called false positive…Nothing to worry about..
Answer #2
agree with
Answer #3
false positive
yeah almost all the keygens are shown as trojan no worries just enjoy another fine release cheers
Answer #4
Ahh, I remember using their keygens Every AV I had made my screen red… You have nothing to worry about. If you’re still paranoid, run it in a sandbox.
Answer #5
if you are suspicious then open the file on a Virtual Machine.
Answer #6

Agreed!
In the case with dealing with keygens. it’s a chance you have to take, cause almost all keygens are tagged as malicious.
I would run it through Virus Total, upload your keygen to this site.
https://www.virustotal.com/
Get a read out of what the app pertains, if I am really suspicious of the app, I would run it in a virtual machine.
If the read out from Virus Total does not look that bad, then I would take the chance an run it on my host machine
Answer #7
All/most all keygens are picked up as viruses by the security software , no need to worry much!
Answer #8
Setting up a Virtual Machine just to run a keygen is overkill. What you need is a sandbox software like so:
http://www.sandboxie.com/
If you’re using Avast, you can choose to run the keygen in sandbox mode
Answer #9
Obviously you have to turn off your anti-virus app if it has real time protection when running the keygen .
Core keygens should have a .NFO file with it describing the app – if there is no Core .NFO, then run it in a sandbox.
Answer #10
Not all AV detect keygen CORE ( talking about CORE) as a threat, however, if we
don’t sleep quiet dreams, then we buy the license of the software we want to
install…
