kaspersky update

installed w7 and the latest kis. cannot connect to update server to update kis. found some offline updates, but it is not complete, still out of date. what can i do to update it?

is this a legit copy of KIS? Try downloading from Kaspersky’s site again and reinstall. KIS is always slow to connect to their update servers so be patient. You could also try opening KIS and when it tells you it’s databases are obsolete just try the fix it now button.

Make sure your windows firewall is turned off. I doubt it would be blocking KIS, but ya never know.

try offline update.
search for “KIS offline update” here. downlaod and follow instruction sposted in the thread to update the database

You didn’t respond when asked if your KIS was legit. If it is, contact Kaspersky support from their Webpage.

no it won’t. have you registered it by downloading keys. If not do so.
Also post exact version number so you can be told what offline update to download

tried reinstalling, didnt help still cannot connect to update server with latest keys. it is verson kis 900736. let me know if you think of anything i can try.

tried bitdefender worked fine except ads and banners on certain sites i visit. kaspersky doesnt allow them if i could figure how to connect to the update server i would be happy with kaspersky. is there something in windows 7 that wont allow it.

tried everything u guys suggested. reinstalled, tried beta, new keys. nothing works because i cannot connect to the update server.
