Just bought a domain from namecheap.com how to register?

December 27th, 2013

I tried assigning my domain but when I click other links the website url doesn’t change. It just stays the same the whole time, how do I make it where it keeps the website name, but makes it /blah/blah/blah? I hope you understand what I’m trying to do.
My website is:
nerdorgeek.com
but I’m not sure what I have to do for the namecheap.com website settings…

I found this guide, hope you can do something with it.
ps. You shouldn create an Subdomain on namecheap Panel and redirect the Subdomain instead of the original, because they suggesting to do so.
Here you go:
You want your url like
http://superman.site.com/
Or
http://coolservername.site.com/
agreed?
Good..
1) Create your subdomain on your domain Cpanel folder.
For this example, I own test.com and the subdomain I created is batman.test.com
2) Open Cloud Explorer (free amazon s3 kit) and create your bucket.. this is the important part..
your bucket name must be your entire subdomain name
So create
“batman.test.com” as a bucket and not “batman”
NOW you can follow the rest of these tutorials
3) Your name should be a new CNAME entry for your domain. For my example of batman.test.com, the entry was:
* Name: batman
* Type: CNAME
* Value: s3.amazonaws.com.
* (If you are an European users, use s3-external-3.amazonaws.com. instead)
Thats it!

I’m sorry I don’t follow you. How do I make my website nerdorgeek.com be able to have for example nerdorgeek.com/blahblah/lskjdf when I click other links on mywebsite?

You need to go to the domain name control panel set the Nameservers to the ones provided by your web host.

That doesnt work with amazonaws.com. You ave to name an folder like your excatly like your domain/subdomain. That redirect domain-com/blabla/blabla2/index.com is avaiable pay hosts (they offer an cpanel, where redirect is easy done).

paid. it costs $9/yr with coupon
Answer #7
Any fully functional web host will provide you with name servers that allows you to attach your domain name to the hosting account. If Amazon does not provide this, I recommend finding a new web host.
