Can you replace a optical bay with a graphics card like on the Lenovo Y500? I don’t really use the cd drive/dvd drive so I just wanna replace it if I can with a gpu, I know I can replace it with a HDD or SSD but I was wondering what bout a GPU like on that lenovo y500. I have the lenovo z585 and its decent for gaming but I want to make it better if I can. My laptop only have the amd radeon hd 7660g without the radeon hd 7670m.

I think cooling would almost definitely be a problem. An optical drive doesn’t need anywhere near the amount of cooling that a GPU does, especially under high load… Bottom line, I don’t think it is worth the hassle I’m afraid.
