Answer #1
What is the pop up?
Answer #2
once it was “registrydefender” add-on for firefox, and the other times i didnt catch it…
Answer #3
download noscript and adblockplus addons for Firefox. unfortunately WBB has viral advertising and sometimes redirects you to malware sites, and they execute scripts and what not.
don’t allow scripts on WBB.

i forgot to mention its not a popup, its a redirect,i just did a search in google, and when i got the results the first 3 choices got redirects, and it was wikipedia! i never had this before.
Answer #5
Get Noscript and adblock plus.

that’s a boot sector virus!
pretty sure you have to reformat to get rid of a boot sector virus, since well.. it starts on boot.

oh ,but can i save information?
and can hirens boot cd get rid of such a virus?
Answer #13
one way to save your data is by removing the hard disk drive and treating it as a secondary drive in some other computer, so that you will be able to browse your files and copy them.
however this implies the risks of placing an infected hard drive into another computer…
Answer #14
use NoScript addon for firefox , works great here , and if u can boot the pc run a progam call’d Combo FIX , maybe it’ll help
