I would recommend either an IPS or an MVA panel for casual gaming.
Also 1,000:1 is the actual contrast ratio and
50,000:1 is just some type of dynamic contrast ratio,
Normally achieved by adjusting back light levels additionally.
TV specs are unverifiable so they are just smoke and mirrors
best way to buy a TV is to look at them and compare
look for high motion scenes and light & dark on the screen at the same time

my 40″ samsung looks better than 90% of the monitors I’ve seen
a TV is better than a 24-30″ monitor if your gaming from 5-6′ away
