iPhone Unlocking

August 5th, 2016

In need of help with my iPhone!
I need to unlock an iphone from factory. It is turned off by Apple.
Do I
a) Need to Jailbreak it? If so how?
b) Change the IMEI to unlock the phone, as it’s identity has changed. If so how?
Also, if I change the IMEI, will this allow the phone to be used on any network?
I’d prefer to do this myself than take it to local shops, as they are changing an awful lot recently.
Thank you!

What do you mean “it is turned off by Apple”?
Apple does not ship locked phones, unless you bought it from a cell provider (like with a contract) it should be unlocked already.

It’s been turned off. It’s my sisters old contract phone, she lost it, got a new one, found this one the same day her new one came.
It’s turned off, incase someone had found it. It’s the anti-theft mechanism. She said if I can get it working, I can have it.
Answer #3
Sign it up on the same network explaining the story and getting your sister to verify it. Right now is could appear that you have a stolen phone … and well ….
Answer #4
So basically what you mean by ‘turned off’ is that its blocked? Is it showing ‘No Service’ at the top left?
If so, then the phone might only work abroad….so i suggest you sell it.
