Internet Explorer and Backspace key

January 22nd, 2020

In Internet Explorer, if you hit the backspace key when
you are not in a text input field, you will be taken back
to the previous page. Is there any way to disable this? Too many times have I
lost all of the information I’ve typed on a page because
I happened to hit the backspace key when I wasn’t in a
text input field. Firefox has similar problem.

Answer #2
You can disable the backspace action in firefox by going to “about:config” and changing “browser.backspace_action” to something other than “0” or “1”, e.g. “2”
