Internet Acting Weird

I got back from college today and hooked up my internet like i used to have it with my netgear router and a cable connected to my pc.
Internet works except sometimes pages just dont load. They dont even attempt to load it just gives me the google chrome error screen (this is crossbrowser btw) but if i refresh the page it will load seconds later …
whats the problem?

It could be a whole lotta’ things man =/
Just to name a few.
Are you sure you don’t have any malware?
Make sure the firmware on your router is up to date,
As well as your operating system and web browsers.
Run a good cache and registry cleaner like CCleaner.
Is your router a router/modem, or are they separate?
If their not combined, plug your computer directly into the modem,
And see if your having the same issues, if you are, then there is an issue with the router.

It’s a wireless router or a plan wired one? If wireless,Do verify that encryption is enabled on it’s settings,Also,Avoid WEP
as it’s very weak. You could also try resetting winsock:
XP – Use the following tool:

Might be an issue with the driver of your Ethernet card too,Update it.

I know this doesn’t sound like a likely fix,
but when was the last time you defragged your PC?
