If I increase ram will my site load faster with more users?

October 28th, 2013

How many users simultaneously can it handle?
Answer #1
how much do you have now ?
under heavy use duz memory use increase
you using windows for server software ?
if so, in task manager, under the performance tab is the “commit (mb)” “1st number” always lower than the “2nd number”
“1st number” / “2nd number”

if the “1st number” is higher than the “2nd number” then adding memory will help
Answer #2
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 605620 599672 5948 0 3228 15904
-/+ buffers/cache: 580540 25080
Swap: 3020212 560664 2459548
I’m running centos 6
Answer #3
you using windows for server software ?
thot that was a longshot
Swap: 3020212 560664 2459548
as in swap file, on the hard drive
duz this file grow and shrink ?
if so more memory might eliminate some of that
you might be better off asking in a centos 6 forum tho
bandwidth plays a large part in page loading speed as well
you monitoring that ?
what’s the diff between how long it takes for pages to load during heavy use & light use times
Answer #4
how do i monitor my bandwidth and how do I know if it is good?
yes my Swap: fluctuates a lot
Swap: 3020212 532152 2488060
Swap: 3020212 603800 2416412
Swap: 3020212 509892 2510320
Answer #5
how do i monitor my bandwidth
google “centos 6 bandwidth monitor” and see if you can come up with something that way
how do I know if it is good
if you max it out all the time it’s bad
yes my Swap: fluctuates a lot
some more memory MIGHT help that, but I have never used centos so I can’t say for sure
how much do you have (I don’t understand the numbers posted above)
how much can your mobo take ?

how much can your mobo take ?

It has 600MB of ram
and it’s a Virtual Private Server Host so I don’t know the mobo.
Answer #7

The website loads super fast when it does connect.
Answer #9
when it does connect
is this a loading problem or a connection problem ?
600MB of ram = .6gb of ram ?
that sounds real low
