I want to build something …

Looking to take up another hobby, I would like to build something electronic … a robot for example, but not sure of any good kits or guides (also not sure of any good sites to buy the parts).
Any ideas?
Budget to start is $100-200 usd.

Visit a hardware store and see things that inspire u to make something rather than asking in a helpdesk.
