I need some help with Phones.

January 26th, 2020

Guys, the thing is that I bought the Iphone 5 32GB on ebay listed as New Unlocked but when I received the Iphone, then I carefully inspected it and found out that the used phone with new body and case. I paid $310 for the phone and the seller didn’t want to take back the phone so I just want to know is there any software that to know how many time the phone turn on and off and how many hours that has been up? If I can prove all the information then that mean the Iphone didn’t match the listing so I could get my refund back, if not then I have to open a case and let ebay people deal with this seller. I know hard drive got that kind of software to track hours and how many time turn on and off.

Without Jailbreak you can’t. In the Apple store they have a special device with reads troubleshooting information and OS related information. You three solutions that come to my mind:
1)Jailbreak it
2)Use a file manager and check the date of creation of some files
3)Bring it to an Apple store and ask them to look it for you

Hi, I got these Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M7 not long ago, since they’re not apple products, is there program to look at them? hours and on/off times like I mentioned above?
Answer #3
I both used android and apple products, I don’t that it is possible for you to check the on/off times. How can you be so sure that the item you have purchased is used? Is the seal already broken? Are there accounts logged in on the device? Or maybe files from the seller.

I searched online and on the developer manuals and in the SDK but I didn’t find anything about it… The only mention of something similar is that during the engineering process there are special devices that can be used to get a device log on a prototype. I don’t think that the complete phone still has this function, it is useful only in an industrial setting and not for the end user…
For thhe on/off number of times there is no mention sadly. I’m still searching if there is a counter that starts on the first boot but for now, no luck. The only solution may be to check the date of creation of some files in a file manager.

Here the thing, I just spoke to the Seller and she agreed on taking the Iphone back for refund. Anyway, does anybody know any sites that I could buy a “Brand New-SEALED” phones with reasonable price. I’m gonna stay away from Ebay from now. Most of them either fake @ss phone or used phone with new body/case.
