I Need A New OS?

August 6th, 2016

Ok, I just reformatted my computer with Windows XP Home Edition with SP1.
However, I can not connect to the internet. Also, the drivers needed for that certain OS, I do not have. I am thinking about getting a new OS. I was looking for something that is very fast, and very compatible. Looking for some XP but do not know which one to get. I am an AVID Gamer, and C++/C# Coder so I need all the room I can get on this slow comp. The .iso file I need also must contain the needed drivers to connect to the internet. I was thinking of TinyXP, but I do not know if I can still install apps onto my pc after installing that. Maybe Linux, but I don’t think many Appz are compatible with Linux. I need something small in size so I can install it rather quickly as I do not have a RS account and I need to use my Mom’s PC to burn to cd so I can’t take up much time. Hopefully you understood me for half of this I just really need some help . Well here are my specs if you want to see them. Not the greatest comp in the world… AMD Sempron Processor
1.79 Ghz
448 MB of RAM
37.2 GB Hard Disk NTFS
Thanks in advance…

tinyxp, it’s tiny!

Does it have the same features of any other xp. Is it still “XP” I mean. I love xp, and does it install drivers for internet. Also, I looked at a TinyXP from , and it says there are many things to install. Which option of TinyXP should I install?
Answer #3
Windows XP Pro.
It’s strange why you can’t connect to the internet. Is it on-board LAN?
Answer #4
Explain, alot of people on this site refer TinyXP. I think I will go with that. I need something rather quick to install if you would read. And something that would burn quickly. I just need now, which version of TinyXP to use?
Answer #5
TinyXP is just a regular XP with lots of services and additional apps disabled.
Answer #6

Just get the proper ethernet drivers for your motherboard and your problem will be fixed. If you dont have the original CD(s) which came with your motherboard, google for “your motherboards model+ethernet+drivers” and voila.

Yes, Install the driver from CD bundle with the Motherboard. Or google it. Without the driver, there are only Vista can help you.
