How to view Basic GPT partition in XP?

August 6th, 2016

I’ve in installed XP as a dual boot with win7, but in XP I cannot see the HDD with GPT. Using Hiren’s MIni XP it shows all HDDs
So what does Hiren do to get this HDD to be seen?
I have used AOMEI software to convert, but apparently I cant convert to MBR because the HDD is over 2TB.
Any suggestions?
BTW, I do not want to format to convert to MBR partition. I would lose all my files.

You can’t access GPT disks with 32bit XP even if you can see them as protected.

I don’t know why you would still want to use XP but you could use 7 to copy what you need to an MBR drive..
Also it appears that by using this software, you can convert partitions without loosing data…!

Thanks for the replies.
I use win7, but there are a few programs that don’t work properly even using compatibility mode. That’s where XP comes in handy. I had it running on a different computer, but I’d prefer the dual boot that I just made.
Double thanks for the Paragon link. IT WORKS!!! I can see all my HDDs/Partitions

Glad you solved it.
You should also consider to run XP in a virtual machine using virtualbox(or vmware). In this way you don’t have to dual boot.
Answer #5
Tried VM, but ONE of my programs wouldn’t work. Stupid computers.
