August 5th, 2016

I downloaded iATKOS 4i from here http://www.google.com?t=1429599&highlight=
I Patched it to the new MD5 and then Burned it.
I reboot and I pressed F8, then -v and then ENTER
Then all this text comes up and then IT SAYS:
Still Waiting For Root Device

And it keeps saying that and doesn’t get past that. I looked everywhere, I cant find any help!!!!!!
PLZ CAN U GUYS HELP ME
HERE ARE MY SPECS:
IT’s a Gateway GM5478
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.44GHZ
Intel Motherboard with Q33 Chipset

TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H652D DVD-DRVIE (This drive is set to Primary Master, Because the HDD is SATA, NOT IDE)

Best help you can get is on irc.osx86.hu and channel #hackint0sh
Have u tried booting with -v flag to see what error your getting?
Answer #2
yea i tried that (press F8 then -v) and got “Still Waiting For Root Device”
EDIT*
I Checked again and it says ERROR: Firewire Unable to Determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure
Then under that after a few seconds it says
Still Waiting for Root Device

the biggest problem that people have when trying to install osx on a pc is hardware incompatibility
see the hardware compatibility lists (HCL) on http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
and see if ALL your hardware is compatible
if its not, then your only choices are:
1. buy hardware that is compatible
2. give up
3. wait for the next release and see if the compatibility is any better

note: something i learned the hard ware
DONT partition using the mac os disk utility. download the GPartEd live cd, partition with that, then ONLY format with the mac os disk utility.
if you do it wrong, windows stops recognising your hard drive. permanently.

yeah windows does that i’m guessing because it formats it to something other than ntfs or fat32… yeah i’m just wiping my hd and getting rid of vista… it kills my laptop with all the resources…. i’m down loading the os now.

no, windows requires a hard drive partition table to be either in MBR or GUID format, Macs prefer some random propritary partition table. im not talking about it not being able to read the disk cos the partition is in HFS+ (there are programs to get windows to read/write to thoes) im talking about it flat out not recognising the disk AT ALL
