January 24th, 2020

Hi All. I have made a movie with my handycam, turned it into dvd, but its just a simple Dvd video. I want to put some fun in it like Chapters, add some of my pictures to it and up it with some cool effects like the pros do it professionaly. Do you know any program that will help me create such thing?? please let me know. thanks

They call them pros because they have the know-how and years of practice manipulating videos. It’ll take a long time for them to really be good. I believe Pinnacle is the one the pros still use.

Pinnacle? No. Most pro video makers use Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects.
Although pinnacle is the easiest to use, it comes out badly.

If you wanna keep working your way up i’d go the way I went.
Start with windows movie maker, get familiar with what makes a good movie etc, and get some timing stuff down in the timeline
Go to Sony Vegas, I was on the vegas stage for about a year and a half. Sony Vegas has a bit of teaching with some more advanced effects, and keyframes.
Move on to the pro-tool of After Effects, to learn after effects go to
www.videocopilot.com
Best site evar.

Roxio is a little bloated, but it allows you to edit your movie and insert transitions etc.
The thing is, people don’t want to sit there and watch a fancy fade-in/fade-out every few minutes–it becomes annoying. The same thing is that people don’t want to watch someone’s grandmother opening presents for 30 minutes…
It’s a combination of editing the movie down to ‘what people want to watch’, incorporating effects that complement the movie, rather that overtake it.
