How to find & search all avi files in a computer
August 1st, 2016
Just to clarify – you want to search all your avi files to find a specific one?
Do you know ANY part of the name – even just a few characters would help.
Open a cmd window and type cd.. <enter> until you get to c:\ at the prompt
then type dir /s *<bit of name>*.avi (don’t include the <>).
e.g.
dir /s *zomb*.avi
Try UltraFileSearch Lite V.2.9 (Freeware)

or
Disk Analyzer Pro

There’s no need to use a 3rd party app for this purpose. Just use the built-in windows search
function and search for *.extension, I.E:
*.avi
*.mp4
*.mkv
It’d find all files with the particular extension.
If your looking for something specific and you remember when approx you downloaded it, You could also define the search to look only for files created from X to Y date. This will help narrowing it down..
I just search for .avi.
