How do I properly tag mp3’s for car cd decks?

January 21st, 2020

I have an mp3 cd deck in my car and I’ve made an mp3 cd. Most of the songs have been tagged using Mp3Tag (freeware) but when they show up on the display on the deck (its a Sony deck) – there are underscores between each letter.
Like this:
S_O_N_G_N_A_M_E
but for one cd that I downloaded (not a mix I made) that I had put onto the mp3 cd, the text displays fine.
ex. SNOOP DOGG

Some car stereos can’t read unicode characters so redo your tags using the ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 standard.
MP3Tag – Tools – Options – Tags – Mpeg – select ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1

Thank you, I’ll try that from now on.
