Do you have a patched uxtheme.dll?

what to use it for ?

Switch it back to the normal xp theme , then apply a new one , also ensure that the themes service is runng by checking it in , serv ices.msc , also disable and theme packs like bricopack or windown blinds.
Answer #4
you have to patch a windows file in order to use non-microsoft theme files.
tell me exactly service pack you are using and i’ll give you a link to a file patcher that will help.

What files do you have? Do you still have the place where you downloaded from, so we can check what it is
Answer #15
Just use Tune Up Utilities 2009 to get a theme , you can download more…and they actually work!(Tune up Styler/Visual Styles/and click on Add to get more..)
Also has good boot up and Log in screens..

Answer #17
wanna easy solution?
try to install bricopack
just google it
Answer #18
How do I install/use?
To install this theme correctly, copy theTigerV folders and TigerV .theme files to XP's default theme directory ...WINDOWS\Resources\Themes (use the shortcut)
If you have Installed the theme correctly it can be applied via themes under display properties, Its best to apply this theme via display properties or .theme file, this will transform your desktop with one click (sounds, cursors, icons, wall will be installed) then choose your desired font style and color scheme under appearance.

Taken from the ‘READ THIS!’.
Have you done this and it still doesn’t work? I couldn’t test it as I don’t have XP on any of my machines at the moment.

is it a .theme file? if so, it’s just an archive. open it with winrar, and the .msstyles file will be inside.
extract the file, then try to open it. if your theme doesn’t change, then your uxtheme.dll file is not properly patched.
