Help..Putting downloaded CDs on an Ipod

How would I put cds in .mp3 and .m4a music files on an ipod? .If anyone could help me do these things it would be very much appreciated.

use itunes…..

Itunes or Winamp bith have easy built in software to let you transfer your .mp3 files from your media library onto your ipod/ portable device

I found the the easiest way and that is to simply highlight and drag from file to itunes library. Thanks 4 your help.
