[HELP NEEDED FAST] Automatic referencing in word

August 5th, 2016

Hi,
I’m writing a paper, and my teacher demands that we use references that automatically change in Word.
But I forgot how to do it.
I think it had something to do with bookmarks, but I don’t really remember.
It should look something like this sqgkqmgqshelbnbvwxjhsf, qlsfjhwxvjqdgfohrqsf [1] qsdfqsdkjsdjqsdf
qsdlkqhglqsfskdfqsljqdfl
qsdkldgjsfghmsgsdlgmfjmFDJQGHQSDKQSJkjqgmsqgmh [2]
reference list
[1] text…
[2] text…
and if one would change their order, their numbers would automatically change as well.
Help needed desperatly!
Thanks in advance

Answer #1
Do you mean
Example The Text Is
LaLaLaLa
and change it automatically to lililili
if yes then use CTRL+H
Answer #2
No, I did not mean it like that at all,
I’m talking about bookmarks and crossreferencing.
Answer #3
i don’t know exactly what you mean but i will explain for index page:
open Word -> View -> Toolbars -> Contour creation (or something similar, i have localized version so i don’t know exact name) -> and toolbar should appear -> Select some text and click on toolbar’s combo box where is displayed text “body text” and pick a level -> repeat several times with different text that you want to be index and different level ->
go to first page click Inset -> Reference… -> Index and tables… -> select appearance that you like and click OK.
U should have index table dynamically created.
I have office XP, in other versions might me a little different than explained.
Hope it helps
