help needed connecting laptop to tv

September 6th, 2020

Hey guys i just bought a vga to scart lead so i can hook my laptop to the tv, my laptop only has a vga output, i was just wondering how do i actually go about getting my laptop screen on my tv?
Answer #1
It depends what graphics card you have..
If nvidia..Run the nvidia control pa…
Answer #2
Fire in your cable (obv) and put ur tv to the correct AV chan. Go into control pa and then into the display tab. Depending on ur laptops graphics card there should be some sort of multiple monitor support function in there, good luck dude. Out of interest is your TV LCD or just a normal one?
Answer #3
it just a normal tv, i have it connected now and theres something on the tv now it looks like as if i were tryin to tune in a tv station. am i getting close?
Answer #4
On your TV you should have the option to auto find the chan.
So that, every-time you plug in that scart it’ll use a certain chan that’s
set for the laptop.
(If I’m correct, could depend on what Tv you have)
Answer #5
its a big black old toshiba tv, it still aint working
Answer #6
Go to the AV chan, and switch the AV chans until you see your desktop. This is the only way to get it.

Right, dont listen to that for a start. The thing on the screen u described sounds like there is something getting through which is a good sign. Have u looked in your graphic card options or in the control pa for multi monitor support yet? To be honest mate it probably wont look great on an old black toshiba anyway. You can buy a good size lcd monitor for <100 these days.
Answer #8
yeh in control pa these external monitors setup options i have went threw it all still no good, how do i get up my graphics optins?
Answer #9
What manufacturer is your graphics card do you know?
Answer #10
my laptop has a ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200M i dont even know if that is bad or good lol
Answer #11
Your laptop won’t work with your tv unless the laptop has a composite or s-video output…
