Help Diesel in Regular engine
August 5th, 2016
its a 2007 scion if that helps, i dont know what to do,
deisel will have gummed up the fuel injectors, probably spark plugs, and fuel filters its a strip down job
keep tiring to start it
this may take awhile so use short bursts(30 sec) on the starter so you don’t burn it out
and try for 5 mins then wait 5 mins to allow it to cool
then pour a can or 2 of fuel/injector cleaner into the tank if it starts
you need to pump all the diesel out of the fuel system and you may get lots of smoke
it don’t start after a hour – 45 mins then see ‘s reply above ^^

And if the battery runs down just get a tow around until it starts.
The other thing you got to remember is that petrol floats on top of diesel, so if any diesel was left in the tank when you drained it that will have to be got rid of before the petrol gets to the engine.
You might want to try disconnecting the fuel feed pipe from the tank to the engine (at the tank side) then try sucking it out ……. doesn’t taste very nice but it gets rid of it.

or jump it with a running car
Have to clean the fuel injectors, hoses and possibly the entire engine block.
