hey, back for help lol, anyways i just installed windows xp gaming edition from here with the help of roberto, anyways i think i installed it in the another partition, anyways it still works, but my my old partition which was C: is now D: and what was D: before is C: now, what i am trying to do is format the new D: drive because it still has all the files from my Windows 7 install lol how can I format it? I tried diskmgmt.msc it won’t open probably because it was removed in this version of XP. i tried to click on the D: drive and click “format” but it doesn’t do anything >.>
Answer #1
You can’t format the primary partition in Windows as it have the boot sector installed in it even if labeled D in windows..
Boot with the XP install CD and format the partition..
If the format option is not available..Use a BootCD..
