Well the problem is, i have this HDD 500gb, and its splited to 3 partitions.
So in explaination i found for this “CLICKS” its telling me that my hdd is dead.
But its not, its working, freeze some times, but still works.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Cause when i install some games on that partipation (D) and when i start that game, its working fine, but after some time, my PC FREEZE. So when i scan PC with windows diagnostic, its say NO BAD SECTORS. So any help?
Tnx in advance !

There is no fix. Once this starts it’s only a matter of time before the drive dies. Though it can still last for a fair long time with it’s ticky state.
Who wants that though? back up all data and get a new drive asap

Clicking = Physical problem with the read/write heads.
I fully agree with jock_juffalo on this one,Back it up & Replace,And do it fast while you still can.

I remember dealing with this issue on the Iomega Zip drives long ago.
They kept sending me replacement drives and the Zip disks were guaranteed for life.
Back then they were the largest capacity removable storage there was at 100 MB.
I never knew this was also a problem with HDD’s.
I even still have a old blue one left with several disks packed away somewhere.

yea clicking, on it’s way out, get one soon so you can save the info you want on it. like stated above, read write heads, mechanical problem
Answer #6
find the brand of the drive & go to it’s website under downloads and get it’s diagnostic utility
check the drive with it, if it comes up with problems see if you can warranty it for a replacement
but as said by jock_juffalo and others, replace the drive
backup any critical data now !

You are being warned which is the best scenario with hard drives that are failing. Get any needed data off the drive before it stops working entirely because you might not have much time to do it. Don’t turn the PC off or use standby until you have a replacement/backup drive which you are ready to install will also help prevent it failing any sooner. Time is precious in such circumstances.
On many occasions people are not so lucky.

tnx for help, i already backup all files from that drive, and now its empty.
Answer #9
You didn’t mention what make the drive was or whether it is still in warranty. You could get the makers software to check the drive but with clicks and head banging it probably won’t show a problem. If it’s in warranty, call the maker to arrange a RMA.
I did the same myself today for a almost 5 year old drive that has failed. With days left on the warranty, although the WD website says it is OOW, but I have the original receipt so they accepted it and are arranging the return. They told me that I reported it before the warranty expiry so they will handle it.

Then your only option is to buy a new or used drive. Looking on the bright side, the prices are a lot lower than when you purchased the failed drive plus you managed to get get all the data you wanted off the drive before it failed. I wasn’t so lucky with my failed drive this time. With my last failed drive I did get everything off.

You were lucky
One thing that is certain is that at some point a mechanical hard drive will fail.
Unless you are willing to lose all the data, you should make at least one other backup, whether it be on another hdd, or data discs.

bro my almost 7 year old powerbook g4 makes noise all the time clicking humming random noises…dont really know a fix but mine is still going strong…im on it now
Answer #14
woohoo then, i am using now this one again, i dont use it to install programs on him, cause i figured out, that only when program installed on that HDD, and when that program is using, then i hear Clicks, otherwise working fine, for data storage !
Answer #15
Why on earth would you wanna stick with a faulty HDD? Don;t play with fire,Just replace it.
