HD 2600xt gpu clock decreasing

July 28th, 2013

Hi, is there any software that can handle this?
My vga cooler is damaged and it makes very noisy sounds I hope that with the lower clock speed the noise will be not so annoying. (lower rpm)
Thanx for help.
Greets.

does catalyst not have the option ? you can usually change fan speeds on it.
altho i would either get a new card or another cooler for the GPU
Answer #2
Lowering the clock speed will make no difference to the fan speed.
It is only bigger and better cars that have variable speed.
The fan is connected directly to 12V on the card, so it is always constant.
Someone here connected the fan externally to get it to run at a reduced voltage..

Another trick can be to lubricate the fan..

Or you may find a new fan to fit…Sometimes you can trim down a case fan and organize it to fit..

Thanks for the replys, i have ordered a new fan, but it takes time to arrive. I think my fan is damaged, because sometimes it is silent, sometimes noisy.
