half life 2 problems

Hi, i have a problem with both of the half life two. The half life 2 episode 1 i get a “sorry for an inconvenience” message when i get to the main menu of the screen. The death match i get a “application error” message. Any help would be appreciated. I am running a 120GB HDD 1GB Ram 1.6 GHz Atom cpu,version of the aao. Thanks.
